How much does GEO cost?

GEO costs between €800 and €25,000 per month depending on scope. The only genuinely public prices I could verify range from €800/month (Zaouri, Morocco) to $14,000/month (Red Engage, United States). Everything else circulates as estimated ranges: of 20 agencies reviewed by Red Engage, only one publishes its rates.

Prices actually displayed in public

This table contains only rates visible publicly on the provider’s own site at the time of the check. Every row links to its source. No averages, no figures overheard at a conference, no reconstructed numbers.

The striking fact about this market is not the level of prices, it is their absence. Red Engage reviewed 20 GEO agencies: only one publishes its rates. That is exactly why this page exists.

Market ranges (estimates, not rates)

OpenLens publishes a 2026 reference grid for the French market, built according to them from more than 60 French agency RFPs, cross-referenced with JDN and BDM data. I reproduce it because its methodology is stated explicitly, which is rare. These are publisher estimates: no provider displays these figures as its own rate.

Source: OpenLens, benchmarks tarifaires AEO/GEO 2026. On the US side, Digital Elevator places the mid-market core between $2,000 and $8,000/month and enterprise programs between $10,000 and $30,000+/month (guide published 11 May 2026).

What actually moves the price

1

Content volume

This is the biggest cost item, well ahead of technical work. An agency producing 5 pages a month is structurally cheaper than one producing 12. When comparing two quotes, compare that number first.

2

The site's starting state

A site with no Schema.org, no structured FAQs and no llms.txt needs foundation work that has nothing to do with optimizing an already-clean site. That is what setup fees pay for: catching up, not a subscription.

3

Number of engines tracked

Tracking ChatGPT alone does not cost the same as tracking ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Google AI Overview. Citation-tracking tool licences weigh real money inside a retainer.

4

Your sector

Healthcare, legal and finance sit above market because content goes through compliance review. OpenLens puts that gap between €1,350/month for dental and €13,500/month for healthcare and legal.

5

Competition on your queries

Getting cited on a niche query takes weeks. Displacing an established player on a generic query takes months of authority work, and it is priced accordingly.

How to read a GEO quote without getting burned

Five signals that should make you ask questions, whatever the amount.

  • A citation guarantee. Nobody controls what ChatGPT answers. A provider guaranteeing a position is either lying or has not understood how these systems work.

  • A price without a quantified scope. "Full GEO at €2,000/month" means nothing until the number of pages, content pieces and tracked engines is written down.

  • A 12-month lock-in on a market that shifts every quarter. Three to six months with an exit point is more honest on both sides.

  • No access to raw data. If you cannot see the tested queries and the actual answers yourself, you are buying a report, not a result.

  • A paid audit that amounts to a tool export. You can run the tool yourself for free. What is billable is the interpretation and the plan.

Methodology and limitations

The displayed-price table contains only amounts taken directly from the provider’s own site on 21 July 2026. Every row carries its source link.

Market ranges are third-party publisher estimates. I quote them with their stated methodology, without endorsing it: I do not have access to the underlying RFPs.

The panel is small and biased by construction, since only providers that publish prices can appear in it. This is not a market study and I do not present it as one.

Dollar amounts are not converted. Overheads, taxation and labour costs differ too much across markets for a conversion to be honest.

Frequently asked questions about GEO pricing

How much does GEO cost per month in 2026?

Publicly displayed prices I could verify range from €800/month (Zaouri, Morocco) to $14,000/month (Red Engage, United States). Third-party publisher estimates put the mid-market core between €2,000 and €10,000 per month (OpenLens, 2026). Those ranges are publisher estimates, not displayed rates.

Why do most GEO agencies not publish their prices?

Red Engage reviewed 20 GEO agencies and reports that only one displays full rates. The stated reasons are scope variability and instability of the field: a setup calibrated for Google AI Overview one quarter may need reworking the next. That is a real explanation, but it makes comparison very hard for the buyer.

How much does a GEO audit cost?

Red Engage displays $2,500 for a one-off audit. Digital Elevator lists its AI Visibility service from $3,000. On the estimate side, one-off audits are placed between $1,500 and $5,000. A first-level automated diagnostic is available for free, including on this site.

What is the price difference between classic SEO and GEO?

GEO layers on top of SEO, it does not replace it: structured data, speed and editorial quality serve both. In published grids, the gap comes mainly from added components, multi-engine citation tracking, entity graph, direct-answer content. Many providers bill the SEO foundation and GEO on the same line.

Can I do GEO myself?

Part of it, yes. Opening AI bots in robots.txt, publishing a spec-compliant llms.txt, adding valid Schema.org and rewriting pages in direct-answer format are all doable in-house with discipline. What usually gets delegated is producing content at the required pace and off-site authority work.

Why does this site not display its own rate card?

Because engagements go through Zaouri, my agency, and that is where the grid is published and kept current. Displaying two grids on two domains means having zero reliable one. Zaouri appears in the table above like any other source, with its real figures.

Are these figures current?

The prices in the table were taken directly from the cited sources' own sites on 21 July 2026. Every row links to its source, so you can check yourself. A price that has moved since is a mistake on my part, not an estimate: flag it and I will correct it.
